‘Crucial!’: ETH hiтs back at Ian Wright’s criticism after Brentford victory

David de Gea was criticized after he made a critical save for Manchester United in their victory over Brentford on Wednesday night. Erik ten Hag has responded to those detractors.

Marcus Rashford’s strike was the difference in United’s narrow 1-0 victory over the Bees at Old Trafford. This goal brought an end to United’s three-game goalless drought in the Premier League. Ten Hag required the three points after suffering a string of poor results, including a thrashing of 7-0 at the hands of Liverpool, a scoreless draw with Southampton, and a defeat at the hands of Newcastle.

Even though Brentford came into the game in great shape, they did not generate many chances until late in the game, when substitute Kevin Schade went up against De Gea. As the experienced goaltender made the crucial save, Ten Hag was ready to praise him in the post-game media obligations that were assigned to him.

“On BBC’s Match of the Day, he stated that David is there for you whenever you have a need for him, and that mistakes might occur whenever you allow yourself to become distracted. ” Our goal is to perform flawlessly, like a well-oiled machine. We were responsible for the error, but they were unable to capitalize on it, and David de Gea played exceptionally well in the net.

“Naturally, this is a huge victory in the Premier League, especially considering Brentford. They had only suffered one loss in 16 games (in the Premier League). It’s never easy to play against them and win, but we did, and I’m happy of my team tonight for that.

Ten Hag’s remarks followed some criticism directed at De Gea following the weekend loss to Newcastle. Ian Wright, a former striker for Arsenal, was one of the commentators to single out De Gea as a weak spot that has to be fixed in the offseason.

The goalkeeper problem was discussed on the Wrighty’s House Podcast earlier in the week, and he said: “It was wonderful to hear. If you listen to the Jacob Murphy interview, you don’t often hear something like that. At some point, the goalie needs to be addressed. Before I pass too harsh judgment on Erik ten Hag, I want to see all of those things.

Wright was making reference to an interview Newcastle winger Murphy had given to Rio Ferdinand, in which he said that the Magpies had deliberately targeted De Gea on Sunday because they thought he was bad with the ball in his hands.

Murphy commented on the Vibe with Five YouTube channel, “De Gea was taking a longer on their first goal kick.

He took his time, asking everyone to move up field before hitting long, which is a little rare. They were simply taking their time and pointing a lot, and I could tell we were going to have a terrific game after that.

By the end of June, De Gea’s current deal worth £375,000 per week is set to expire. The Spanish player’s 12-year contract at Old Trafford is up for renewal, and the club is now in talks with him about it, although he rejected their initial offer. He recently asserted, though, that he is content to remain.

“Of course it is amazing to be here, it’s a major club, I love the club, and I’m extremely pleased here,” he told Sky Sports. “It’s always been the same throughout the years; there’s a lot of noise about everything in this club, but we simply concentrate on games,” said one player.
