Former Arsenal Theo Walcott announced his retirement at the age of 34

Having played for Arsenal and England at the peak of his career, Theo Walcott is about to announce his retirement at the age of 34 after his contract with Southampton expired at the end of last season.

Walcott has made the decision to part ways with his digital career after his contract with Southampton expires at the end of the 2022/23 season. Since that time, the Englishman has been trying to find a professional contract but is still a free agent.

Waiting forever to be ignored by any club, the former star of Everton, Southampton and Arsenal is considering making a decision to hang up his boots after 23 years of playing professional football.

In an emotional post on Instagram, Walcott wrote: “The moment I first put on my football boots at the age of 10, was the beginning of a special journey for me. From playing in the park with friends friends, to compete in some of the biggest stadiums, in front of huge crowds around the world. okay and I’m really grateful.

I ran on the football field with a lot of great players and created many memorable moments. I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the coaches and assistants I have worked with, especially Harry Redknapp for starting me and Arsene Wenger for his faith and support. for me when I joined the club when I was only 16 years old.”

Referring to Walcott, one cannot forget the peak period of wearing Arsenal shirt and becoming the “prodigy” of England for the 2006 World Cup. Only, the prodigy was never big . He scored 80 goals in 397 Premier League appearances for every team he ever played for, a disappointing number compared to the huge potential of a football prodigy in the fog.

It is unclear what Walcott will decide to do after retiring. He could choose to follow in Jack Wilshere’s footsteps and start a coaching career, with potential opportunities at old clubs like Arsenal. Professional football can also be an option, as some former players decide to aim for this job after retiring.
