According to LiverpoolWorld, VAR did evaluate Alexis MacAllister’s red card in Liverpool’s match versus Bournemouth.
The Reds midfielder was sent off in the 58th minute of the match at Anfield for a tackle on Ryan Christie. There was certainly surprise when referee Thomas Brammall brandished a red card, with many expecting a yellow.
Those on VAR duty at Stockley Park determined that there was no clear and evident error and that the on-field decision stood. Furthermore, it is believed that the VAR hub felt Mac Allister’s studs were showing and that a high point of contact was established.
