Alex Ovechkin is a Russian-born Washington Capitals ice hockey player. He is the team’s captain and left winger, and he is regarded as one of the greatest scorers of all time.
Anastasia Shubskaya and Alex Ovechkin first met at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The couple reconnected on social media in 2014, and this time they became close friends before marrying.
In 2016, Ovechkin married Shubskaya in Moscow, Russia. President Putin sent the couple a wedding gift as well as a telegram, which was read aloud at the reception.

Alex Ovechkin is a 13-time NHL All-Star who has won the Hart Trophy for Most Valuable Player three times, the Conn Smythe Trophy for Stanley Cup playoff MVP once, and the Art Ross Trophy for top point scorer in 2007-08.
