Tom Brady adores his three elder sisters, Maureen, Julie, and Nancy, above all else, including football.

Tom and his sisters grew up in San Mateo, California, under the loving care of his parents, Tom Sr. and Galynn, and were affectionately nicknamed the Brady bunch by admirers. The couple has been married for more than 50 years and continues to reside in the same Bay Area neighborhood where they reared their four children.

Maureen Brady, the Brady family’s eldest child and the couple’s first child, was born in 1970. She was upgraded to big sister in 1974, when her parents received Julie, and again in 1976, when Nancy was added. A year later, their younger brother Tom was added to the mix.

The Brady children were encouraged by their parents to step outside of their comfort zone and experience new things from an early age. Nonetheless, their interests were always related to sports.

“We wanted them to try everything, whether it was guitar, ballet, or piano,” Tom Sr. told The Eagle-Tribune. “But they all seemed to gravitate toward sports, which was fine with Galynn and myself.” We were both sports enthusiasts.”

With three children involved in school athletics, the Brady family’s schedule was packed. Maureen, Julie, Nancy, and Tom played a total of 315 games in one year, according to Tom Sr. Nonetheless, Tom and his sisters made an effort to support one another. On National Siblings Day 2018, Tom took to social media to thank his sisters for always being by his side.

“You count your blessings every day when you are the youngest of four children and have three older sisters who are as loving, protective, and caring as these three women!” “I love you and thank you for always being there for me,” he wrote beside a photo of himself and his sisters.

Tom Sr. and Galynn still live in their family home in San Mateo, California, where they reared their four children, according to The Eagle-Tribune. According to Maureen, their neighborhood had roughly 70 children. Tom, on the other hand, was never considered one of the big kids, no matter how hard he tried “to fit in.”

In honor of his 43rd and Julie’s 46th birthdays, Tom posted a throwback photo of them on Instagram.

Tom Sr. and Galynn raised an athletic family! Maureen Brady, the oldest Brady child, went on to play collegiate softball at Fresno State University, according to a story in The Eagle-Tribune. Maureen was an All-American pitcher who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame and is recognized as “the standard for San Mateo County softball pitchers.”

Julie, like her older sister, participated in college sports. She was a walk-on for the St. Mary’s College soccer team before earning a scholarship. Nancy, Tom’s closest age rival, has gotten a softball scholarship to UC Berkeley.

The Bradys are known to enjoy a healthy dose of competition. When their children were younger, their father, Tom Sr., acknowledged to making everything a competition — though he and Galynn always enjoyed watching their children scramble against one another.

“I started it,” Tom Sr. explained to The Eagle-Tribune. “Everything we did, and I mean everything, including sprinting home from church, tossing the farthest rock we could… Everything was a contest. I suppose it made things more interesting, at least for the winner.”

In high school sports, Tom’s sisters were more popular than him.

Tom may be a big name now, but he wasn’t always. His three older sisters were once making headlines in the local press for their achievements on the field.
