‘Dean Henderson out’: Man Utd reported eyeing Benfica ‘guardian’ as Onana’s No.2

Manchester United have inquired about Benfica’s 29-year-old Greek international goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos, who was born in Germany.

United are looking for backup goalkeepers after Crystal Palace made an offer for Dean Henderson, who also has an offer from Nottingham Forest.

Vlachodimos has appeared in 225 games for Benfica since signing from Panathinaikos in 2018.

Last season, he played 34 games in the Portuguese top division as Benfica won the title.

After selling Nathan Bishop to Sunderland and Matej Kovar to Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester United are looking for a replacement for Andre Onana.

Radek Vitek came off the bench in Manchester United’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham on Saturday, with Tom Heaton and Dean Henderson still out injured.
