After Manchester United’s loss to Tottenham, one fan went on a rampage, demanding that manager Erik ten Hag be fired.
The Red Devils were thrashed 2-0 by Tottenham on Sunday, with Ange Postecoglou’s side brutally exploiting their midfield inadequacies in the second half.
The defeat follows an underwhelming 1-0 win over Wolves in their first Premier League match, in which Andre Onana narrowly avoided surrendering a penalty.
Indeed, supporters are concerned, as their club has spent about £180 million on Mason Mount, Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund.
The disappointments of Sunday’s performance were the tipping point for one supporter, who ripped into the club’s status and their manager’s lack of liveliness on the field.
“What is going on at United?”, an impassioned caller exclaimed on talkSPORT.
“They’ve got no heartbeat, there’s no rhythm. I used to watch Manchester United and within two or three minutes there would be electricity and you know it would be a cracking game.
“You look at that rubbish today, and you either want to turn your TV or walk out the stadium.”
He then took aim at Ten Hag’s summer transfer business, labelling Hojlund the “Erling Haaland from Wish”.
‘What is Ten Hag doing?”, he continued. “He goes and buys a player called [Rasmus] Hojlund. Did he think it was [Erling] Haaland on Wish? What is he doing? Nine goals in the Serie A. Why doesn’t he go for [Victor] Osimhen?
“One player won’t change anything at United, you need 10 players. Ten Hag is not a Manchester United manager.
“That man is on the sideline, chewing gum and not even animated. My 82-year-old mother is more animated than him.
“He needs to go, the guy needs to go. Get that clown out the club and even bring [David] Moyes back.”
