On his 16th birthday, Tom Brady sent a heartfelt greeting to his son Jack.
Brady, who shares Jack with ex-wife and actress Bridget Moynahan, said in his statement that his son had “changed our lives.”
“16 years of joy with the (sweetest, kindest, most loving, etc etc) son, brother, friend, and teammate any parent could ever hope for,” Brady said in the description of an Instagram picture including photos of him and Jack with their siblings Benjamin and Vivian.
“You have changed our lives since the day you were born, and every day since has been such a blessing for everyone who knows you and is fortunate to have you in their life,” he went on to say.
Brady concluded his post by mentioning how this new chapter in Jack’s life also means it’s time for him to get his learner’s permit.
“I’m gonna make sure I’m off the road,” the ex-NFL player quipped.
Gisele Bündchen, Brady’s ex-wife and Jack’s stepmother, also wrote a nice message for Jack on Instagram, along with a throwback photo of her with him when he was a baby.
“Happy belated birthday, Jack!” In the caption, Bündchen wrote. “I can’t believe you’re sixteen!” I recall when you were a tiny peanut, and now you tower over me.”
“I am so lucky to have you in my life, and I will always be here for you no matter what!” she continued. “I adore you so much!”
Brady and Bündchen had been married for 13 years until announcing their divorce in October 2022.
The ex-couple married in 2009 and had two biological children, Benjamin, 13, and Vivian, 10.
Brady stated in an Instagram post following the announcement of their divorce that their children “will continue to be the center of our world in every way,” and that he and Bündchen would “continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.”
In an interview with Vanity Fair in March, Bündchen repeated Brady’s message of prioritizing co-parenting.
“We’re not playing against each other,” she explained. “We are a team, and that’s beautiful.”
