‘Won’t stop’ – Saudi Club keen on attempting to sign £78m Liverpool star now

Al Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League is moving forward with a move to sign Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

Salah has long been regarded as a possible crown jewel in Saudi Arabia’s effort to put themselves and their league on the football map. But, up until today, claims that he might quit Liverpool have been met with significant opposition.

However, according to journalist Rudy Galetti, this would not deter Al Ittihad. Galetti stated on Twitter last night that Fabinho’s new team has given Liverpool a ‘big bid’ for the Egyptian.

“Al Ittihad will not give up on Salah,” the journalist claims. “The club made a huge offer (more than $100 million [£78 million]) to persuade Klopp, who had previously rejected the idea of his farewell, to let him go.”

“If Liverpool accepts, it will be the most expensive deal in Saudi League history.”

Salah isn’t going anywhere

Despite Salah’s own representative openly stating on multiple occasions that this is not happening, the whispers continue.

At this point, however, Mo leaving Liverpool would be the shock of all surprises.

Perhaps things will be different in a year. If the Reds don’t go back to where they belong this season, Salah may reconsider his alternatives.

But, for the time being, the Egyptian King appears to be entirely focused on Liverpool.

To that end, Mo has had a solid start to the season. A Premier League goal and an assist in two games is already a fantastic return.

Although he was disappointed to be substituted against Chelsea on opening day, the 31-year-old appears to be as happy and comfortable as ever.

Galetti implies that Al Ittihad’s offer has yet to be accepted. If the bid exists, it won’t be long until it receives a very definite one. No, it does not.
