Liverpool face big setback in pursuit of Andre Trindade after Fluminense rejects €30m offer

Liverpool have faced a major setback in their pursuit of Andre after Fluminense turned down a €30m (£25m) offer for the Brazilian star.

After the departures of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Chamberlain and James Milner, coach Jurgen Klopp is in dire need of new midfielders. Wataru Endo has arrived from Stuttgart but the German leader needs at least one more midfielder before the 2023 Summer market closes.

Liverpool once pursued Moise Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, but lost to Chelsea. According to the British press, Fluminense’s Andre is the latest target of the Red Brigade. Fulham were also interested in the 22-year-old, but their £17m offer was turned down.

The 22-year-old has made 148 appearances for Fluminense and is currently playing in the Copa Libertadores, where he helped his side reach the quarter-finals. According to ESPN, Liverpool have had a major setback in their pursuit of Andre after Fluminense turned down a €30m (£25m) offer for the Brazilian star.

Fluminense is not interested in letting their star go this summer, and even if Liverpool raise the transfer price, they are not willing to negotiate. It is likely that the Red Brigade will have to return on the next Eastern market.

This is extremely disappointing for Liverpool, because it is rumored that they have reached a personal agreement with the Brazilian player. Liverpool are also linked with Kalvin Phillips, who is not being used at Man City.
