The Chicago Blackhawks’ Tommy Hawk has been chosen as the 2023 NHL Mascot of the Year, which is major hockey offseason news.
The popular bird announced his new honor on social media on Wednesday.
The 2022β23 season saw Chicago finish with the third-worst record in the league, but Tommy Hawk undoubtedly contributed enough to keep things interesting at the United Center.
Tommy performed a variety of essential functions in addition to his fan engagement responsibilities when called upon.
However, in this writer’s perspective, his Festivus celebration was what really cemented the deal. Without the airing of grievances and displays of strength, a holiday party simply cannot be considered complete, and Tommy knows a thing or two about both.
Tommy Hawk, congrats on winning NHL Mascot of the Year in 2023. In 2023β24, here’s to more “Let’s Go Hawks” chanting, mischief, and Blackhawks victories.
