Liverpool given chance to sign Piero Hincapie for ‘cut-price’ deal now, Hincapie would love to move to PL

Liverpool appear to have completed their midfield business, but another major concern in Jurgen Klopp’s squad is at center-back, where the German coach desires another for the left side.

Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate are without a doubt Liverpool’s key center-back partnership this season, but the quality behind them is hit-or-miss. Klopp wants to add another elite left-sided central defender to his roster, and the Merseyside club has been connected with Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie this week, according to talkSPORT.

Hincapie, according to Ben Jacobs, would love to play in the Premier League and could be available this summer for as little as £35 million. While no bids have been made for the 21-year-old defender, if one arrives around this time, the defender will fight for a move away from Bayer Leverkusen.

Hincapie would be an excellent addition to Liverpool’s roster because he checks several of Klopp’s boxes. The Ecuadorian star is also young, and while he will not be a starter this season, he will be able to learn from one of the finest in Van Dijk, with the goal of eventually taking over for the Dutch star in two or three years.

Xabi Alonso, the manager of Leverkusen and a former Liverpool player, is known to be a huge supporter of Hincapie, and with a contract in Germany until 2027, the 21-year-old could be difficult to get if the player does not push for a move.
