Man United will lose left-back Luke Shaw for a relatively long time after he suffered a muscle injury

MU confirmed it will lose left-back Luke Shaw for a relatively long time after he suffered a muscle injury.

Currently, MU is assessing the extent of Shaw’s injury. However, the Red Devils insist the English defender can sit out for about 6 weeks. This means Shaw will be back in October if the recovery goes well.

In the first two matches in the Premier League this season, Shaw both started for MU. Under coach Erik ten Hag, the 28-year-old is practically always trusted. Besides the left corridor, Shaw also plays well when the Dutch teacher pulls him into the center-back.

Shaw’s latest problem makes MU really headache because Tyrell Malacia – a backup plan for Shaw on the left – is also injured. Currently, the Red Devils only have Alvaro Fernandez, 20 years old, whose forte is left-back.

If Fernandez cannot be trusted, coach Ten Hag may only have to drag Diogo Dalot or Jonny Evans to fill the position left by Shaw. Or, Ten Hag will be forced to let MU play with a 3 central defender scheme.

In general with this situation, MU needs to recruit a new left-back, maybe in a temporary direction for the rest of the summer transfer window of 2023. This is necessary because the Red Devils cannot play with the squad. patchwork during the time both Shaw and Malacia were sidelined.
