Klopp ‘very, very interested’ in talented midfielder who showing permission to play for Liverpool

This summer, Klopp is still’very, very interested’ in Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, and the Dutchman has been granted permission to leave the Bundesliga winners.

The 21-year-old, who was bought from Ajax only a year ago, has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at the Allianz Arena and is said to be growing unhappy with his lack of playing time.

Liverpool have long been linked with a bid for the Dutch international, with The Athletic’s James Pearce recently saying that the Reds ‘would be part of the conversation’ if he is put up for sale.

“I know for a fact that Jurgen Klopp is very, very interested in Ryan Gravenberch, and now the situation has changed – Gravenberch has permission from Thomas Tuchel to leave Bayern Munich because Tuchel’s idea is that if they sell him (and Liverpool have signaled that they could pay £20m), Tuchel will get funds to fund a new No.6,” Falk wrote in his Daily Briefing for Caught Offside. “The board had said no to his request, but if there’s money coming in from the potential sale of Gravenberch, he could try to get a holding midfielder for the squad.”

Gravenberch is keen to play regular football again, and with our squad still in need of another midfield acquisition, it’s hard not to believe that Anfield is the correct fit for him.

The Amsterdam-born star was an unused substitute in Bayern’s recent German Super Cup defeat to RB Leipzig and their first Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen, which will further fuel his desire to leave this summer.

Falk has previously stated that he believes Liverpool will make a play for the Dutchman despite Klopp having already signed Alexis MacAllister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Wataru Endo.

With five senior midfielders departing this summer, including club captain Jordan Henderson and veteran players such as Fabinho and James Milner, we’d love to see another fresh face in the middle of the park.

Gravenberch, despite his young age, has played at the top level and might get his career back on track under the cautious eye of our German tactician.
