Striker Kylian Mbappe continued to show his indispensable role in Paris Saint Germain (PSG) when he scored twice in the home team’s 3-1 victory over Lens in the third round of Ligue 1.
The focus of the third round of Ligue 1 is the match between defending champion PSG and runner-up Lens at Parc des Princes.
In the previous two rounds, the Paris team still did not know the smell of victory, so they put great determination when playing at home. However, coach Luis Enrique’s army encountered many difficulties before the visitors’ tight play and deep defense.
It wasn’t until the 45th minute of the first half, from a bounce between Mbappe and Vitinha, before Warren Zaire-Emery passed the ball smoothly for Marco Asensio to cut his heart into the near corner to beat goalkeeper Brice Samba to open the scoring for PSG.
Entering the second half, when the ball only rolled for 7 minutes, Mbappe received a pass from Lucas Hernandez’s left wing and dangerously doubled the lead for the home team.
Leading by two goals helped PSG create an active game, defend tight and create sharp counter-attacks. In the 90th minute, Mbappe made the ball hit defender Lens, changed direction and went straight into the net before the helplessness of goalkeeper Samba.
It was not until the 90+5 minute that the visitors found an honorable goal from Guilavogui and accepted to lose the final 1-3. This victory helps PSG rise to 4th place in the rankings with 5 points, while Lens sinks in 15th place with only one point after 3 rounds.
