Sky Sports News reports that Kylian Mbappe and PSG are currently negotiating a contract extension. The French player agreed to a one-year extension with a release clause.
Kylian Mbappe has finally made his debut for PSG this season, coming on as a substitute and scoring in a 1-1 draw with Toulouse. After scoring Mbappe ran towards the fans and shouted “I stay here, I stay here.”
Sky Sports News reports that Kylian Mbappe and PSG are currently negotiating a contract extension. The French player agreed to stay at the Parc des Princes until the summer of 2025, but has a release clause next summer. The amount of the release is being negotiated, estimated at 100 to 120 million euros.
This information makes the possibility of Mbappe coming to Real Madrid for the rest of the summer of 2023 almost no longer, before coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed Real Madrid had locked the transfer plan. When asked if Real Madrid would welcome new players, Ancelotti replied: “No, I completely deny this. 100% no. The transfer is over. I rule out bringing in any new recruits before the transfer window closes.”
So, after tensions peaked in June, Mbappe and PSG have found a way to solve the problem. The renewal agreement and the contract comes with a good release clause for all parties. Accordingly, Mbappe will continue to play for PSG in the 2023/24 season, and the French team will collect a sum of money if he leaves in the summer of 2024.
PSG’s attack will change completely in the new season. Messi and Neymar both left this summer, if Mbappe stays, he will play alongside Marco Asensio, Ousmane Dembele or Goncalo Ramos.
