Manchester United star Andre Onana, became Ajax No1 and funded an electric grid for mother’s hometown

The Red Devils have made a significant investment of £47 million to secure the services of a talented Cameroonian shot-stopper who will take over the goalkeeping duties from David De Gea. The 27-year-old goalkeeper made a name for himself during the club’s impressive Champions League campaign, which saw them reach the semi-finals in 2019. He continued his success in the competition while playing for Inter Milan, helping them reach the final last season.

Signing a lucrative five-year contract, reportedly worth approximately £6.2 million per year, the goalkeeper has not only enjoyed financial success but has also demonstrated his generosity towards his homeland. In 2020, it was reported that he utilizes a portion of his salary to fund an electric grid that provides electricity to a small African town. Additionally, the benevolent footballer has established a foundation to support children who have faced adversity in their lives.

Although he initially began his youth career at Barcelona, the goalkeeper ruffled feathers at the Catalan club when he turned down a contract offer in favor of joining Ajax at the age of 18. However, this decision proved to be a wise one, as he has since established himself as one of Europe’s premier goalkeepers, earning recognition as one of the best in the game.
