On Tuesday in New York City, the Colombian singer and Miami Heat power forward played a pick-up game of basketball on the streets.
Recently, Miami Heat center Jimmy Butler III and Colombian musician J Balvin took their bond to the streets.
The two played pick-up basketball on Tuesday and uploaded videos of the excitement on their Instagram Story. Fans discovered the reggaeton artist was sporting an unreleased hue of his Air Jordan 3s, the most recent model of his footwear line with Nike, which debuted in 2022, after the upload.
Balvin and Butler took a break from rushing around the court and shooting baskets to relax on a nearby bench, snapping photographs with players, and uploading the images to their own social media pages.
The two buddies can be seen laughing and pointing at the team they appear to have trounced in one Instagram Story video that Balvin posted. The losing team is seen waving their fingers at the winning pair as they celebrate their victory over them.
They both grinned and pointed in tandem towards their adversaries, saying in joke, “Ganamos!” which means “We won!”
“We are two!” Butler taunted the losers by calling them “Poopoo face!” as Balvin, 38, repeated in the video, which means, “Both of us!” in reference to the fact that Balvin and Butler “won against 5” opponents.
The “No Me Conoce” singer and the six-time NBA All-Star have been close friends for a long time, and Balvin has frequently been seen showing Butler, 33, support by going to his basketball games.
Following Miami’s victory over the New York Knicks in May of last year, Butler could be seen giving Balvin a bear hug from courtside, according to video posted on the NBA’s official Twitter account, which is now known as X.
This relationship would account for Balvin’s choice to honor Butler by donning a Miami Heat jersey with the number 22 on it.
It seems like Balvin treasures the friendships he has with his well-known pals. The musician has already spoken openly about his friendships with British singer Ed Sheeran and Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi.
It was only me and him very early in the morning when we first met in a gym in New York. I went up to him and simply said, “Hello because I knew his voice when he was on the phone. Sheeran, 32, posted a message on Twitter in March. “We talked for so long that we had lunch and afternoon tea as a result. Then they simply started chatting constantly as friends.
