Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James launched a bombshell by declaring he might consider retiring during the summer after being eliminated from the NBA playoffs by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, losing in four straight games.
No one really thought James would retire from the game after playing his 20th NBA season because he was still obviously capable of playing at a high level and within reach of collecting a fifth championship ring, despite the fact that some claim he said it to distract from getting swept by the Nuggets.
The veteran forward announced his intention to return for a 21st season in the NBA soon after considering retiring, which undoubtedly delighted the Lakers.
James was spotted working out at the Lakers practice facility in El Segundo, according to ClutchPoints. It appears like he isn’t wasting any time in getting his body ready for the rigors of an 82-game regular season followed by a long run in the playoffs.
The real question is whether James has enough left in the tank to take the Lakers to the promised land one more time before calling it a day in his career.
Los Angeles will have a good chance of unseating the Nuggets during the upcoming season, but it will need a complete season of a healthy James and Anthony Davis to do it. The Lakers appear to have made all the proper moves throughout this NBA offseason.
