‘FAILED’: Liverpool will not sign ‘complete’ midfielder now

This summer, Liverpool have been widely linked with a deal for Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure, but there is some bad news.

In the midst of their park, the Reds are yearning for a new guy. They want a new addition before the window closes tomorrow night, but if Daily Mail columnist Lewis Steele is to be believed, it will not be Doucoure.

Cheick Doucoure will not be able to join Liverpool

Liverpool entered the summer transfer window with one goal in mind: to strengthen their midfield.

The Reds had a strong start to the season by adding Alexis MacAllister from Brighton and Hove Albion and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.

Jurgen Klopp had hoped to complete the deal by bringing in Moises Caicedo or Romeo Lavia for the number six position, but both players turned down a move to Anfield. Wataru Endo has stepped in as a stopgap measure.

Cheick Doucoure has been linked with a move to Liverpool for a few weeks, but Steele claims the ship has sailed because Crystal Palace are demanding much too much money.

According to previous reports, the Eagles are asking roughly £70 million for the ‘very complete’ midfielder.

“Liverpool had been keen on Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure but I think that ship has sailed now due to financial reasons,” Steele remarked in his Q&A.
