Man Utd XI vs Arsenal: Erik ten Hag ready to hand out two debuts

Rasmus Hojlund and Sergio Reguilon might earn their Manchester United debuts when the club takes on Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.

United signed seven players this summer, including four on deadline day, including left-back Reguilon, midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, and experienced defender Jonny Evans.

Amrabat arrived on loan with a purchase option from Fiorentina, while Bayindir moved from Fenerbahce to back up fellow new player Andre Onana. Evans also signed a one-year contract with United after participating in pre-season.

Only Reguilon, one of the deadline day additions, is expected to play against Arsenal. Amrabat is unable to participate on Sunday, but Ten Hag has confirmed that Reguilon and Bayindir were both signed in time.

As a result, with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out injured, the Spaniard is anticipated to start at left-back, with Bayindir likely to come off the bench as backup for Onana. With Rapahel Varane injured in the win against Nottingham Forest, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to continue at right back, while Victor Lindelof could partner Lisandro Martinez.

Mason Mount is also out with an injury and will be out until after the international break. As a result, Christian Eriksen is anticipated to start with Casemiro in center midfield once more.

Ten Hag also revealed that Hojlund, who joined United for £72 million while injured, is ready to make his debut against Arsenal. “We had a good training week, and on Saturday we have the final training,” Ten Hag remarked at his pre-match press conference.

“He’s doing well, so he’ll be there.” I believe he is ready to begin. There is a bright floodlight on each player. At Manchester United, you must excel in every position and for every player.”

As a result, Hojlund might lead the line against Arsenal, with Marcus Rashford and Antony out wide and captain Bruno Fernandes in the No 10 position. Due to injuries, Tom Heaton, Kobbie Mainoo, and Amad Diallo are all out.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will be without the injured Jurrien Timber, but Mikel Arteta might give Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zincheko their first starts of the season after both came off the bench in the 2-2 draw with Fulham.
