The 2023 NFL season is approaching, and with it, a new fantasy football season.
There are many players who should be evaluated in fantasy football, and quarterbacks in particular carry a lot of weight. Obviously, one of Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, or Joe Burrow will be a fantasy footballer’s favorite, but there are others to consider.
Dak Prescott and Deshaun Watson are two of them, but which will be the better pick?
When comparing the fantasy outlooks of Dak Prescott and Deshaun Watson in 2023,
The teams of Dak Prescott and Deshaun Watson had quite different seasons.
The Dallas Cowboys were one of the greatest teams in the NFC, finishing second in the East division, but Prescott threw the most interceptions in the league, 15. While they defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what would eventually be Tom Brady’s final game, they were defeated in the Divisional Round by the San Francisco 49ers.
Meanwhile, Watson did not even begin the season since he had been suspended for 11 games for multiple sex offences committed during his time as a Houston Texan. The Cleveland Browns went 4-7 without him. In Week 16, they were eliminated from postseason contention.
The Cowboys made considerable roster changes during the summer and preseason, the most notable being the dismissal of running back Ezekiel Elliott and the acquisition of Trey Lance. The Browns were not anonymous in the player market, adding to their already stacked wide receiver room by trading for Elijah Moore and then choosing Cedric Tillman in the third round (coincidentally with the pick that came with Moore).
