Jimmy Butler has been touring the globe ever since the Miami Heat’s season came to a dismal conclusion last year. Butler certainly appears to be making the most of his off-season break, whether it be by seeing his close buddy Neymar Jr. in Brazil or attending the famed Wimbledon tournament in the United Kingdom. The Miami Heat player recently visited the US Open to watch his friend Carlos Alcaraz compete. Butler played against Colombian singer J Balvin’s team in a game of football (soccer) hours after witnessing his favorite tennis player achieve a third-round victory in New York, and even jokingly called the latter out for lying about the score-line.
Jimmy Butler has long been vocal about his respect for Carlos Alcaraz’s brilliance. The 6’7″ Forward lavished Alcaraz with accolades earlier in the year. A few months later, the 2023 NBA Finalist made sure to fly 4,426 miles to be there for Carlos as he faced Holger Rune in the Wimbledon Quarterfinals.
Jimmy Butler has been paying close attention to the US Open, much like he did with the other Grand Slams. Butler returned to the legendary Arthur Ashe Stadium after seeing a few games live to catch Carlos Alcaraz’s third-round match against Dan Evans. Jimmy G. Buckets said in a video posted on his Instagram that he was getting ready for a football match versus J. Balvin after seeing the defending US Open Champion easily defeat his opponent (6-2, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3). He stated the following:
“Just got back from the Carlos match. As a result, we switch between activities. observing my son perform on the tennis court. It’s time for me to head out to the football field and do my thing. In a little over an hour, I have a football game. I must now enter my zone.
Jimmy was engaged in a conflict with J Balvin’s squad, as was evident from the articles that came after. The Colombian singer began celebrating after the match by yelling, “We won!” Balvin was caught lying, and Butler made sure his supporters were aware of it. Jimmy captioned the story, as seen in the embed above, “Do not let @jbalvin lie to you.” After the game, the NBA veteran went after his singer friend while shouting, “Stop lying, do not lie. On the camera, he was lying.
