Striker Kylian Mbappe continued his scary scoring form when he scored a double in the Lyon vs PSG match. The Parisian team won 4-1 to get close to top team Monaco.
After returning to PSG’s squad, Mbappe continuously opened fire. He scored 1 goal in the 1-1 draw with Toulouse, 2 goals in the 3-1 win over Lens and in the win over Lyon was another double.
With Mbappe’s sublimation, PSG was completely confident right from the first minutes of their trip to Lyon’s field. Right in the 4th minute, the away team was awarded 11 yards after Ugarte was fouled in the penalty area. Mbappe made no mistakes to open the score.
By the 20th minute, PSG had doubled the gap. The scorer was right back Achraf Hakimi with an easy ball from close range.
But PSG has not stopped yet. In the 38th minute, Marco Asensio increased the score to 3-0 after a pass from Ugarte. And at minute 45’+2, it was Asesio who created Mbappe to complete the double.
In the second half, Mbappe had many opportunities to score a hat-trick but missed them all. Meanwhile, Lyon could only score an honorable goal in the 74th minute with Tolisso’s successful penalty kick.
The final result of this match was 4-1 in favor of PSG. Coach Luis Enrique’s team climbed to 2nd place on the Ligue 1 rankings, 2 points behind leading team Monaco. Meanwhile, Lyon ranked bottom of the table with only 1 point after 4 matches.
