Mohamed Salah sets Liverpool scoring record amid rumors of imminent move to Saudi Arabia

Amid the news of receiving a ‘huge’ offer from Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Salah shined helping Liverpool defeat Aston Villa 3-0 in round 4 of the Premier League on the evening of September 3.

Liverpool played against Aston Villa at home, but the focus shifted to news about their star striker Salah. Apparently, he received a “huge” offer from Al Ittihad Club in Saudi Arabia. Reports suggest that after the match, coach Rui Vitoria allowed Salah to stay back, possibly to prepare for negotiations with the Arab side. This news has created quite a buzz.

In the match on the evening of September 3, the Egyptian star striker made a big impression helping Liverpool defeat Aston Villa. After Dominik Szoboszlai opened the score in the 3rd minute for the “Red Devils”, Salah was the one who initiated the attack that caused Matty Cash (Aston Villa) to score an own goal in the 22nd minute.

Aston Villa has proven that they are a team that is not easily conquered under coach Unai Emery. However, when the away team began to flourish,  Salah extinguished hope with a close-range finish at the beginning of the second half from an assist from Darwin Nunez, sealing a 3-0 victory.

Salah has been directly involved in goals at least once in each of his last 10 Premier League appearances (scoring five goals and providing seven assists). Therefore, coach Jurgen Klopp certainly does not want to lose the 31-year-old striker, who has won the Premier League “Top Scorer” award three times. Salah’s talent has contributed to Liverpool’s unbeaten record this season (3 wins, 1 draw), 2 points behind leaders Man City.
