Former midfielder Rio Ferdinand said that Jadon Sancho could move to Saudi Arabia after fighting with coach Erik ten Hag.
The former Borussia Dortmund player launched an attack on Ten Hag on social networks after the Dutch coach revealed he was not in the squad for the match against Arsenal because of “poor performance in training”. “The England striker responded by claiming the comments were “completely untrue”, before going on to say he had been “the scapegoat for a long time”.
After the war of words, Sancho’s departure from MU may be imminent. However, he cannot move to another European club now because the summer transfer market closed last week. And Ferdinand believes that clubs in Saudi Arabia could be Sancho’s possible destination because the country’s transfer market does not close until Thursday (September 7).
Speaking on his FIVE YouTube channel, Ferdinand said: “There’s no way Jadon would make a statement like that if he didn’t believe he did a good job. But maybe he’s not suitable for Ten Hag. Currently, there are only 2 options for Sancho. One is to move to Saudi Arabia. Or he will have to sit on the bench and not be in the squad for the rest of the season.”
Sancho came off the bench in Man United’s first three 2023/24 Premier League matches, not contributing any goals. But being left out of the squad in the 3-1 loss to Arsenal last Sunday night left his future open.
This player joined MU from Dortmund for 73 million pounds in 2021. In 2 years at Old Trafford, he only scored 12 goals and had 6 assists in 82 appearances.
At the end of 2022, Cristiano Ronaldo also had a disagreement with Ten Hag and then had his contract terminated and transferred to Al-Nassr in the Saudi Arabia National Championship.
