Connor Bedard has never eaten fast food during his playing career

Connor Bedard, who is anticipated to be selected first overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, has already accomplished a lot of things that the majority of hockey fans can only ever hope to do himself.

With 123 points in just 48 WHL games this season with the Regina Pats, Bedard is undoubtedly on his way to become one of the most interesting prospects to ever play in the NHL, as seen by his record-breaking performance at this year’s World Juniors, his frequent appearances on highlight shows, or any other number of factors.

However, all you need to do if you want to accomplish something that Bedard hasn’t is, well, chow down on a Big Mac. or any other item from McDonald’s or another fast food restaurant.

Melanie Bedard said in an interview with Mike G. Morreale for NHL.com that her son has a very rigorous diet.

He has never eaten fast food… He hasn’t eaten at McDonald’s or anything yet, but he will at some point, Melanie added. “I believe that everyone is aware of how they feel when they eat well and when they start to veer off course. I believe he is merely cognizant of that emotion. He will eat chicken, rice, vegetables, shrimp, mashed yams, chicken, and salmon on game days. It rotates in a manner.

While many junior hockey players move out of their community to live with a billet family, Melanie has been living with her son as he trains to play in the NHL.

Bedard was voted the tournament MVP as Canada won the gold medal at this year’s World Juniors after recording nine goals and 14 assists in just seven games.

While her son has yet to enjoy the pleasures of a greasy fast-food hamburger combo, Melanie appears to be overjoyed to be the happy mother of one of the sport’s most promising young stars.

We’ve followed that tournament since Connor was a baby and as he grew up, so I’m extra pleased of him when he’s sporting that Canada shirt, she said. Therefore, whether they win or lose, those sentiments of pride when he wears it are proud times for a hockey parent. But there’s definitely a lot more tension involved than I had anticipated.
