LFC on international duty: Darwin Nunez & Robertson shine, Jota & Alisson unused, Bajcetic’ return

Darwin Nunez took over Luis Suarez’s No. 9 shirt and starred in his debut for Marcelo Bielsa as Uruguay defeated Chile 3-1 in a World Cup qualifier.

It occurred on an otherwise quiet night for Liverpool’s internationals, with Alisson sitting out Brazil’s 5-1 World Cup qualifying win against Bolivia.

Diogo Jota was also on the bench as Portugal defeated Slovakia 1-0, while Andy Robertson led Scotland to a 3-0 triumph over Cyprus.

Stefan Bajetic played his first minutes in six months for Spain U21s, coming off the bench as center-back in a 6-0 demolition of Malta.

England U21s’ Jayden Danns played 20 minutes in their 4-0 loss to Japan at Tournoi International, while Wales U19s lost 1-0 against Finland at the Jari Litmanen Arena.

Andy Robertson lead Scotland to a spotless record in Euro 2024 qualifying, while Stefan Bajcetic earned his Spain U21 debut on Friday evening.
