Liverpool interested in Norwegian wonderkid, who Fabrizio Romano strongly appreciated

According to the Danish newspaper Tipsbladet, Liverpool admires Tromso’s 17-year-old Norwegian wonderkid Jens Hjerto-Dahl. The Reds could make a play for the outstanding adolescent, similar to what they did with Stefan Bajcetic.

Liverpool has been a Premier League leader in producing young players, particularly during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure. The Merseysiders have a fantastic track record of bringing up unpolished gems and transforming them into bona genuine stars.

There are numerous examples, the most recent of which being Stefan Bajcetic. The former Celta Vigo youth has earned a reputation for himself under Klopp since last season, when he was inserted when other midfield options were failing.

Liverpool are now interested in Jens Hjerto-Dahl of Tromso, a player with a similar profile from Norway’s growing market. With his mature displays, the 17-year-old Norwegian wonderkid has piqued the interest of some major clubs.

He just broke into Tromso’s first team setup, with three goals and two assists in 13 senior appearances. It’s a fair price for a deep-lying player regarded as a future defensive midfielder. Hjerto-Dahl, who is already 6’4 in stature, has a bright future ahead of him as a major move awaits the 17-year-old Norwegian wonderkid.

Brondby of Denmark is Liverpool’s main rival for the youngster. According to Nordlys, the Merseysiders sent scouts to observe Hjerto-Dahl in action recently, and reports of a prospective deal have emerged since then.

Liverpool are also interested in signing Antonio Nusa, so Hjerto-Dahl is not the only Norwegian on their radar. The winger assisted on two goals scored by Premier League talents Martin Odegaard and Erling Haaland in Norway’s triumph over Georgia.

Hjerto-Dahl’s growth may benefit from a move to Merseyside, while Liverpool may want him to spend a year with the U21 team. If he can emerge as a breakthrough star, Klopp will undoubtedly give him an opportunity in the first team.

This is where Brondby’s involvement could be essential, as the Danish side has offered a huge platform for Scandinavian kids to thrive. They might provide a strong pathway for the 17-year-old Norwegian wonderkid to top-level, first-team play, something he may have to wait for at Liverpool.
