Jordan Henderson was overjoyed for Andy Robertson as he led Liverpool to a 3-1 victory over Wolves on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp’s team headed into the halftime break 1-0 down and needing to come back from behind to win for the second time in three games.
And, after collapsing last season, Liverpool are beginning to resemble their former selves, with Andy Robertson, who stood in for the suspended Virgil van Dijk, spearheading the charge.
After Cody Gakpo equalized shortly after the break, Robertson’s charging run at Wolves’ backline with five minutes remaining ended in the left-back scoring the game-winning goal.
That goal by Robertson was set up by Mohamed Salah, but it was scored with his left foot as if Salah himself was on the end of it.
Jordan Henderson, who relocated to Saudi Arabia this summer, was watching from afar and expressed his excitement on Instagram.
Robertson’s message from Henderson
“Love to see it,” the former Liverpool captain said on Instagram, beside a photo of Robertson spinning away in delight.
Can Liverpool win the Premier League?
It may be argued that with important players missing due to suspensions or injuries, and new acquisitions still settling in, Liverpool are not yet at their peak.
So, if they’re making this type of shape now, what will they do when their engines really get going?
As of now, given that they were the last team to prevent Manchester City from winning the title, you can’t bet against them challenging again.
