Midfielder Hannibal Mejbri had an excellent performance in Man United’s 1-3 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion last night.
The Tunisian international played a few friendly matches for Man United in pre-season but did not make any appearances before the international break in September. Hannibal Mejbri appeared to have arrived on loan at Besiktas, but the deal did not come to fruition.
Yesterday, Mejbri finally got the chance to impress coach Erik ten Hag. He entered the field in the 64th minute and scored an honorable goal for the Red Devils with a great long-range shot.
In addition to the goal, the 20-year-old completed 100% of his passes and dribbles, winning four duels. He brought home 2 crosses, made 1 successful tackle and only lost control of the ball once.
If Mason Mount cannot play, Mejbri can absolutely start in the center of midfield instead of Scott McTominay, who had a forgettable match against Brighton. The Scottish player only made 15 passes until he was replaced in the final minutes of the match. He only won 2 duels and made a very weak contribution to the team.
