Volatility and change are certain to happen at Anfield after this season, but right now, Jurgen Klopp has sounded the alarm for the players. There will be no more “no-go zones” and any member who lacks effort will pay the price.
The 1-4 defeat at Man City on April 1 showed that Liverpool’s squad had deteriorated too much and was no longer able to compete for the title. Klopp admits Liverpool are unlikely to beɑt Man City’s 10 men, let alone 11.
The force in Klopp’s hand is not enough to compete for the title
Having to say these things, a person with high self-esteem like Klopp understands that he and the players are already in a corner. Can only change, or perish.
“We can’t play like that in the Premier League,” Klopp insisted. “We want to fιght together, we want to overcome difficulties together. However, it is bad compared to the past. We played at the Etihad many times and always competed fairly, but the day before it wasn’t.”
Liverpool is no longer a threɑt when leaving Anfield
Before the trip to Chelsea, the German strategist reveɑled: “We have the opportunity to change and we have to change. We can’t close our eyes and say the same old things over and over again. We need change and open opportunities for everyone to contribute to the team.
” There will only be two or three players in a safe position . They all know that, because I told them myself. We have to fιght, there is no other way. Can’t just keep doing this for a little bit. , the other a little bit, or pass back 5 times in a row and hope everything gets better. Open your eyes wide, look ahead and move forward.”
Klopp insists he can replace anyone if he’s not in good form
Liverpool’s starting line-up at Stamford Bridge proves Klopp’s words. He only retained 5 positions like the match against Man City, the rest replaced all. To Mo Salah, Robertson, Gakpo, Alexander-Arnold also had to sit on the bench, while Van Dijk was ill and could not attend. How does the new version of Liverpool play? No better and only luck helps The Kop leave London with 1 point.
Jamie Carragher says this is not the Liverpool he knows. But that is the view of a former player, and for Klopp, change is inevitable and 1 point is still a step forward: “We didn’t start well when we often lost the ball.
Liverpool are lucky not to lose to Chelsea
But the players gradually improved that. This is not a good game for Liverpool. But it’s a small step forward for us. Every success starts with being hard to beɑt and today Liverpool have done it again. If it’s hard to beɑt Arsenal, we can win that game. Otherwise, Arsenal will overtake us.”
It’s the irreplaceable contentment of a team that has nothing to lose this season. Klopp must help Liverpool run the momentum of change so that next summer, they will take a big leap to get rid of their old bodies.
