Exclusive: Man Utd makes a strong bid for the acquisition of a blossoming midfielder as Arsenal and Tottenham are warned

TEAMtalk has learned that Adam Wharton, a promising midfielder for Blackburn Rovers, is now a target for Manchester United.

At Ewood Park, Wharton advanced through the younger ranks before breaking through last season under Jon Dahl Tomasson.

Numerous teams are already interested in the 19-year-old center midfielder.

In fact, it has been reported that clubs like Newcastle, Brighton, and Wolves showed a lot of interest in the player throughout the summer, while clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham had previously shown interest in Wharton earlier in 2023.

But now that we know, Man Utd has been closely monitoring Wharton over the first couple weeks of the new season, and they are rumored to have been impressed.

This term, Wharton has proven to be one of Blackburn’s most valuable assets. The emerging adolescent sensation, who debuted against West Brom for 31 minutes, has subsequently started five straight games and played the whole 90 minutes.

Wharton has a contract with Rovers till 2027. His brother Scott plays for the team as well.

The Sun recently reported that Blackburn has already selected their replacement if Wharton left, which is further good news for Man Utd and all other prospective bidders.

According to the article, Blackburn are hoping that Birmingham star Jordan James can cover any gaps left by a Wharton departure.
