Liverpool return to European play against LASK in the Europa League on Thursday.
The Reds enter the Europa League as one of the competition’s finest teams, and the Merseyside club has a good chance of winning the trophy this year.
However, following an injury-plagued start to the season, they enter Thursday’s encounter with a rather reduced roster. Ibrahima Konate and Thiago have struggled with fitness thus far, and Trent Alexander-Arnold is also slated to miss Thursday’s game against LASK, according to James Pearce of the Walk On Podcast.
Alexander-Arnold has gone missing
Pearce revealed his knowledge of the 24-year-old.
“I don’t think Liverpool can keep playing like this and expect to always dig it out like they did against Newcastle and at Molineux at the weekend.” That absence of consistency will be filled. There are a few issues to iron out. Without Trent, Liverpool cannot play the way Klopp wants them to. Trent should be available for West Ham on Sunday; he won’t play against LASK on Thursday,” Pearce stated.
Everything should be OK
Liverpool, as Pearce points out, can’t play the way they want to when Alexander-Arnold isn’t on the field, but they should be alright against LASK.
With all due respect, LASK aren’t exactly Manchester City, and if Liverpool are even half as good on Thursday, they should be able to win.
The Reds’ objective this season isn’t the Europa League, but they should be able to grab a result here even without Alexander-Arnold.
