Andre Onana’s handling difficulties continued when Manchester United players returned home after their Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, with the goalkeeper shown losing his vehicle keys.
After allowing Leroy Sane’s feeble attempt to slip through his hands, Onana was at fault for the opening goal in Man United’s 4-3 defeat to the German champions.
The goalkeeper has received accolades for his reaction to the setback, which included asking post-game media appearances to admit to the error.
‘It’s a difficult scenario for me because I failed the team. We didn’t win this game because of me,’ claimed Onana, who joined Manchester United this summer for £47.2 million.
‘We started extremely well, but following my error, we lost control of the game. (To the fans) I still have a lot to prove. My start hasn’t gone as well as I had hoped.’
Onana, captain Bruno Fernandes, and Marcus Rashford were among the Manchester United players spotted on Thursday when Erik ten Hag’s squad returned to the city.
Ten Hag’s team will need to put their first Champions League loss behind them as they return to the Premier League this weekend.
On Saturday, Manchester United will look to snap a three-game losing streak in all competitions.
The Red Devils will seek to get back on track against Burnley in a Saturday evening kick-off.
