Arsenal gave a big reward to ‘Maestro’ Martin Odegaard with a 5-year contract and the highest salary in the club

Martin Odegaard signed a new contract with Arsenal, the Norwegian player decided to extend with the London team until 2028.

Martin Odegaard joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid in January 2021, he played well and was bought permanently by the Gunners in the summer of 2022 for a fee of 30 million pounds. The star born in 1998 played better and better at the Emirates. He was given the captaincy of the London team by Mikel Arteta.

Last season he scored 15 goals and had 7 assists in the Premier League, helping the Gunners win runner-up position. This season, he continued to make his mark, most recently with the equalizer in the 3-1 win over MU and the goal that sealed the score 4-0 against PSV in the Champions League.

Arguably in the best form of his career, the 24-year-old has committed his future to Arsenal. Accordingly, the Gunners confirmed signing a new contract with Odegaard until 2028. Coach Mikel Arteta happily said:

“Odegaard has agreed an extension with Arsenal, which is really good news. He is our captain and someone who is extremely respected at the club, a great role model. On the field, as everyone has seen, Odegaard is a talented player and maintains great stability.”

“As a coach, I am very happy to work with him. Now he has committed his future to Arsenal. We all look forward to continuing to accompany Odegaard in the years to come.”

Arsenal sporting director Edu added: “Finishing a new contract with Odegaard is great news for us all. He is an exemplary captain, he has influence on and off the field. Odegaard is only 24 years old, so he can still get better, and we are delighted that he will continue to play at the Emirates for many years to come.”

“Our aim is to keep our best players, Odegaard is the latest star to agree to a new contract. That shows that the club is moving in the right direction.”
