‘He is very powerful’ – Wataru Endo impressed by high-skill Liverpool star in training

Wataru Endo, a Liverpool midfielder, lauds goalkeeper Alisson’s extraordinary skill, which stands out amid his high-skill teammates.

Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo revealed his thoughts on new colleague Alisson Becker in the club’s official matchday programme (h/t Liverpool official site), expressing his respect for the world-class goalkeeper.

During the summer transfer window, the Reds paid £16.2 million to sign Endo from Bundesliga club Stuttgart. So far, the Japanese international team skipper has participated in five games for Liverpool, starting two of them.

The 30-year-old offers a wealth of knowledge from the Bundesliga, where he gained the heart of Stuttgart supporters for his dedication and service.

Endo stated in the club’s official matchday programme (h/t Liverpool official site) that while the Reds have many talented players, the goalie’s shot-stopping skills stands out. He stated:

“All of the players here have very high skills, and I think goalkeeper Alisson is fantastic.” I’ve played with a lot of goalkeepers, but his ability to stop shots is outstanding. Of course, the forward players are quite talented, as are the other players, but Alisson’s ability to stop shots is exceptional. He saves the crew from perilous situations and is extremely powerful.”

Liverpool paid £67 million to sign Alisson from Serie A club AS Roma during the 2018 summer transfer window. Alisson’s signing made him the most expensive goalkeeper in the world at the time, however the record has since been broken.

The Brazilian international has been a game-changer for the Reds and a consistent important performer. The 30-year-old has played in 237 games for Liverpool in all competitions, keeping 104 clean sheets with a clean sheet record of 43.04%.

With Liverpool, Alisson has won the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, UEFA Champions League, and FIFA Club World Cup. The Brazilian has earned world-wide acclaim for being a pivotal figure for Liverpool during their highs and lows.

During his time at Liverpool, the Brazilian goalie earned the Best FIFA goalie, UEFA Goalkeeper of the Season, Yashin Trophy, IFFHS World’s Best Goalkeeper, and two Premier League Golden Gloves.

In addition, Alisson has three assists and one goal in the Premier League for Liverpool. The world-class shot-stopper is also noted for his long passing range.

The 30-year-old’s solitary goal for Liverpool came in a stoppage-time winner against West Bromwich Albion, when the Reds urgently needed a hero. Liverpool’s Champions League qualification berth was salvaged by Alisson’s goal.
