‘He is absolutely unbelievable’: Pundit amazed by ‘brilliant’ Liverpool star vs Leicester

Dominik Szoboszlai’s spectacular goal against Leicester City tonight has received a lot of praise.

The Hungarian surprised Anfield with a rocket of a shot in the Carabao Cup, putting the Reds ahead 2-1 against Leicester.

It was a goal that had Liverpool fans on their feet, no matter where they were viewing. Sky Sports analyst Robert Earnshaw was one of several who gave the goal the attention it deserved.

While covering the game for Sky this evening, the former Wales striker stood to celebrate Szoboszlai’s performance.

“What an accomplishment!” What an accomplishment, Szoboszlai!” Earnshaw yelled. “He just came on and rocketed into the top corner.” Szoboszlai, congratulations! Liverpool wins 2-1, and what a rocket.

“This boy is very, very good; I’ve seen him play in every game this year and he’s been brilliant, and that just about sums him up.” Wow! Wow, just wow!

“Let’s look at it about ten times because this is incredible.” This is an absolutely excellent technique. This is all he is capable of. So neat.”

Szoboszlai gets the audience up and dancing

You have a feeling this isn’t the last time commentators and fans salivate over a rocket from our No.8.

Szoboszlai glides with such confidence and clarity on the ball that you just know he has more of those in his sleeve.

And what a perfect moment to purchase this one. No, it’s not the most important game Liverpool would play all season, but after dominating Leicester for so long, the game was nearing its conclusion.

If the Reds had gone into the final ten minutes or so tied at one, it could have made for a tense finish and the possibility of a penalty shootout.

But the game was over the moment Szoboszlai’s thunderbolt ricocheted off the underside of the bar. It was game over because he made the decision.

It takes a special player to show up at Anfield and claim the No.8 jersey. Despite scoring a few of goals that were similar to this one, Naby Keita was never able to replicate it at Liverpool.

Of course, it’s early days, but Szoboszlai appears to be more than capable of filling that hole thus far. Earnshaw loved it, Jurgen Klopp loved it, and Reds fans all across the world will have enjoyed it. What a play, what a goal.
