Juventus have reportedly chosen to target Nice’s Khephren Thuram in the summer of 2024 in order to reinforce their midfield.
This is according to Sport Mediaset, with the newspaper saying that the main impediment to reaching this goal will be Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
In 2023, the Merseysiders recruited extensively in the midfield position, bringing in former Bundesliga players Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, and Dominik Szoboszlai, as well as World Cup-winning midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Frenchman, who is a far more offensive midfielder, is likely to be sought as competition for our Argentine and Hungarian midfielders.
According to FBref, the 6′ 3′′ player’s attacking attributes speak for themselves, with him ranking in the 90th percentile for shot-creating actions, 96th percentile for progressive carries, and 85th percentile for touches in the opposition penalty box.
Most intriguingly, the data provider lists Mac Allister as a footballer similar to Thuram, though we’d wonder if the 22-year-old is capable of filling Curtis Jones’ job on the left side of the midfield three given his poor passing numbers.
