‘Klopp loves him’: Liverpool reported willing to sign £87m flexible playmaker to replace Salah

Liverpool have previously been connected with a number of talented wingers to replace Mohamed Salah, and Rodrygo’s name has come up again.

According to Spanish media, Jurgen Klopp is eager to recruit the Brazilian international to replace Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah at Anfield.

Klopp “loves” Rodrygo, according to Eduardo Inda. According to the journalist (Diario Madridista):

2023/24 là mùa giải mà Rodrygo phải nhẫn nhịn chịu đựng tại Real

“In addition to being a brilliant coach, Klopp values good players. He admires a Real Madrid player who the club’s hierarchy admires but who could depart if Mbappe arrives in the summer. He is a player who would be considered to replace Salah.”

“His favorite player is Rodrygo.” He’d put him in the band because he’d be filling in for the Egyptian. If Mbappe joins Real Madrid, several spots will be overcrowded.”

Rodrygo is a flexible player who can play on either wing or as a center forward, but he has thrived most on the right flank.

In Madrid’s UEFA Champions League-winning season in 2022, he scored five goals and provided two assists. Last season, the 22-year-old scored and assisted on 30 goals for the Los Blancos across all competitions.

Since the departure of Karim Benzema in the summer, the Samba star has played in the No.9 position and has scored just two goals in 13 appearances this season.

Rodrygo does not want to be a pure striker, and Madrid values him at roughly 100 million euros (£87 million).

Salah’s statistics have been outstanding since he joined Liverpool in 2017, and he is still our finest attacker at the age of 31.

The veteran is the Reds’ biggest goal scorer, and his replacement would need to be a proven quality and world class playmaker.
