Liverpool’s next Europa League game against Toulouse will see the return of one forward, but there are still a few players missing from Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Reds can extend their unbeaten start to the Europa League campaign with a win over the French side at Anfield on Thursday, following wins over LASK and Union SG.
Thankfully, no fresh difficulties arose from the Merseyside derby over the weekend, and the manager oversaw a xx-man training squad on Thursday.
Klopp will welcome back a forward after three games away, but the rest of his squad is still missing.
So, who is available and who is not for Liverpool’s meeting on Thursday evening? Consider the following:
Cody Gakpo will make his return after missing the Reds’ past three games due to a knee injury, according to Klopp, who confirmed he has been in full training since Sunday.
The Dutchman will be in the squad, but we will “have to see” if it results in a return to the starting lineup.
Because this is a European encounter, Klopp may turn to Curtis Jones before he serves the final match of his three-match suspension on Sunday, when the Reds visit Nottingham Forest.
Unfortunately, Ben Doak will not be able to score his first goal on this occasion due to a muscle injury sustained during the international break.
Luke Chambers, on the other hand, is back in training and in contention to start at left-back after making a brief appearance against Leicester in the League Cup.
Andy Robertson successfully underwent shoulder surgery, and the manager stated that everything is “as good as it can be” and that the next stage of his recovery begins immediately – we won’t see him back in action until 2024.
Finally, Thiago, Conor Bradley, and Stefan Bajcetic have yet to resume full team practice.
Alisson, Kelleher, Jaros, Adrian*, Pitaluga, and Mrozek are the goalkeepers.
Van Dijk, Gomez, Konate, Matip, Quansah, Alexander-Arnold, Tsimikas, Chambers, and Scanlon are the defenders.
Szoboszlai, Jones, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Endo, Elliott, and Nyoni are the midfielders.
Gakpo, Nunez, Salah, Jota, Diaz are the forwards.
