West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen has declared Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah to be the best winger in Premier League history. Salah’s consistency and productivity, according to the England international, make him a proper standard.

Salah has been a key character for the Reds for over a decade and has had numerous successes. He has titles in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

This season, the Egyptian captain has reinvented himself to adapt to a new style of play under boss Jurgen Klopp. Klopp called his team “Liverpool 2.0” after overhauling the midfield this summer. Salah was a member of the famous and prolific trio that also included Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. However, with the exception of Salah, the Reds have sold the duo and replaced them with a younger forward.

Bowen, speaking to Sky Sports via YouTube, called Salah the finest winger in Premier League history when questioned directly. He stated:

“Salah. The figures he generates each year. He has won the Champions League and the Premier League and averages 20 goals per season. Hazard was a joke, but the way I play is probably more skewed towards a left-footed winger and who you want to model your style after. He’s the standard… Salah has done that for me every year as well. I’m probably a little more biased because of the way I play. Salah, of course, and Saka as well.”

The 31-year-old adapted well to his new role and delivered consistently. Egypt’s captain is the last survivor of the renowned trio that also includes Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Salah joined Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017 for a price of £36.5 million. Since then, he has appeared in 317 matches for the Reds, scoring 195 goals and assisting on 83 others.

Egypt’s captain won the Premier League Golden Boot after scoring 32 goals in his debut season at Anfield. The 31-year-old has won the Premier League Golden Boot three times for the Reds as he has routinely scored.

Salah’s name is already carved in the annals of both the Premier League and Liverpool. Many Liverpool supporters and ex-players see the Egyptian as the best player in the club’s history. People rank the Liverpool legend alongside the likes of Steven Gerrard, John Barnes, and Kenny Dalglish. That is an honor in and of itself, as many great players have worn the red jersey and proudly served Anfield.
