Kylian Mbappé’s late heroics give PSG an impressive victory over Brest in Ligue 1. In round 10 of Ligue 1 of the 2023/24 season, PSG took an early 2-goal lead but was held back by Brest. However, Kylian Mbappé’s timely brilliance helped them win a tҺrilling 3-2.
Riding high after a 3-0 victory over AC Milan in the Champions League group stage, PSG launched a fierce аttаck right from the opening whistle. After a few missed opportunities, the away team broke the deadlock in the 16th minute thanks to young midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery.
Just over 10 minutes later, PSG doubled the gap. Supported by Lee Kang-in, Mbappé showed off his skillful finishing ability to put the ball into the net. This marks the French superstar’s 9th goal in Ligue 1 for PSG this season.
With a seemingly comfortable lead, PSG appears ready to win easily against Brest. However, the dynamic on the field has completely changed. Defensive errors caused the away team to concede two goals at the end of the first half and the beginning of the second half.
In the next half, PSG rose strongly and in the 89th minute, Kylian Mbappé once again shone. From the penalty spot, his initial header was blocked by the Brest goalkeeper, but he reacted quickly and scored the winning goal in a tҺrilling 3-2 win for PSG.
This win marked PSG’s third consecutive victory in Ligue 1 this season, bringing them to 2nd place on the rankings with 21 points, only 1 point behind top team Nice. Round 11, under the guidance of coach Luis Enrique, PSG will host Montpellier on November 4.
