Last Saturday, armed men on motorcycles seized Luis Manuel Diaz and his wife, Cilenis Marulanda, from a petrol station in the small northern Colombian town of Barrancas.
While Diaz’s father has not been seen since, Cilenis was rescued within hours.
The National Liberation Army, also known as the ELN, is an armed rebel group blamed by Colombia’s government for keeping him captive.
Diaz, 26, has missed Liverpool’s past two games due to the kidnapping; nonetheless, he celebrated his daughter’s birthday today.
Gera also shared photos of her family on Instagram and made the same request to the ELN kidnappers.

On Thursday, ELN rebels claimed responsibility for the kidnapping and offered the Diaz family a ray of hope, promising to return Luis Manuel within “hours.”
Despite the fact that he was still a hostage two days later, the terrorist group has now claimed that it has began the process of releasing Luis Manuel.
“We must recognize that the situation you have heard in the news is true, and the ELN will free Mr. Diaz’s father as soon as possible,” stated an ELN representative, Juan Carlos Cuellar.
