With his outstanding performances this season, Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah has piqued the interest of England Under-21 manager Lee Carsley. Quansah, who has played in the Premier League and the Europa League for Jürgen Klopp’s side, is expected to represent England’s Under-21 squad in future matches against Serbia and Northern Ireland.
“He’s very mature,” said Lee Carsley about Quansah’s maturity and level-headedness. That is notable, as is your calm demeanor. Whatever you throw at them, they’ll take it in stride.” Carsley also highlighted his wish to acquire more playing time for Quansah, who is presently on loan at Hull City in the Championship, and commended Tyler Morton, who is also on loan at Hull City in the Championship.
The England Under-21 squad is preparing for matches against Serbia and Northern Ireland in the Euro 2025 qualifying round. They are currently three points behind the Group F leaders after a 3-2 setback to Ukraine last month. Taylor Harwood-Bellis, captain, has returned to the squad after missing the previous two games due to injury. Josh Wilson-Esbrand, an uncapped player, and goalkeeper Sam Tickle have also been named.
Former Everton player Lee Carsley voiced his enthusiasm at returning to Goodison Park for the match versus Northern Ireland. “It’s fantastic to be back at Goodison,” he said. I was eager to bring the group. We transport the team all across the country and get some great crowds. Coming here with the history I have means it’ll be a terrific night.”
The England Under-21 squad is made up of outstanding players from a variety of clubs. Bristol Rovers loanee Matthew Cox and Wigan Athletic loanee Sam Tickle are among the goalkeepers chosen. Defenders Jarrah (Everton), Charlie Cresswell (Leeds United), and Taylor Harwood-Bellis (Southampton, on loan from Manchester City) will provide defensive cover. Midfielders Harvey Elliott (Liverpool) and Hayden Hackney (Middlesbrough) contribute to the team’s inventiveness. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (Borussia Dortmund) and Liam Delap (Hull City, on loan from Manchester City) are also among the squad’s talented forwards.
Jarell Quansah’s efforts for Liverpool have clearly earned him respect and a spot in England’s Under-21 squad. Quansah has the maturity and talent to make a huge impact in the next contests. The England Under-21 squad, under by Lee Carsley, will be hoping to earn strong results and progress towards Euro 2025 qualification.
