Since the former’s arrival from Brighton last summer, Mac Allister and Nunez have grown extremely close. They spend a lot of time together because Alexis is Jurgen Klopp’s translator for Darwin.
However, it appears like some of that time together could be spent studying Liverpool trivia. The pair may know a little more about the club they now represent, according to a TikTok from the Reds official channel today.
Both Mac Allister and Nunez came up short in a task that put them against each other, being given quick-fire Liverpool-related questions.
Darwin may have had the worst moment of his life. The 24-year-old responded firmly when asked how many Champions League championships the Reds have won.
“Tres!” he said, raising three fingers. “No!” exclaimed Mac Allister, “no, no, no, no!” The Argentine’s well-timed face-palm summed up the atmosphere. Darwin, get your act together!
It’s time to do some homework.
Mac Allister isn’t completely off the hook here. When asked how many league titles Liverpool has won, the ex-Brighton player said one. Only one league victory.
Nunez laughs with excitement when told the correct number is 19.
“You said one!” exclaims Liverpool’s number nine. “One plus 18 equals 19,” Mac Allister claims. “Because since it was called the Premier League I think it was one [title].”
To be honest, he is completely correct. Perhaps the Argentine should earn extra points for that!
Darwin’s swiftly build up when both players are asked to carry one football in their arms for each incorrect question answered.
But the balls fell from Mac Allister’s arms after he misjudged Anfield’s expanded capacity. Nunez is proclaimed the winner, despite the fact that his Reds partner is still triumphantly exhibiting what appears to be seven balls.
Darwin, what a turnaround. Much like a particular memorable Liverpool comeback in 2005. We’re guessing you’ve heard of that one?!
It’s wonderful to see them getting along so nicely. Please, more of this!
