Erling Haaland and Odegaard are spectators at EURO 2024 as Norway missed out on ticket to play in Play-offs

Norway officially missed out on a play-off round ticket, forcing Erling Haaland and Odegaard to watch EURO 2024 from the stands.

The Norwegian squad of Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard, as well as promising young stars like as Oscar Bobb and Nusa, will be unable to compete in EURO 2024.

The results of Group I of the EURO 2024 qualifying round have now been released, with Switzerland and Romania receiving two tickets to Germany.

Norway, who finished third in Group A behind Spain and Scotland, will not be able to compete in the play-off round.

Israel, which was in Group I with Switzerland and Romania, officially received tickets to the play-off round due to outperforming Norway.

Finland and Bosnia and Herzegovina are the other teams in League B (UEFA Nations League). Ukraine or Iceland own the remaining capacity in this region.

Ukraine presently has the upper hand. Iceland will receive a play-off ticket if they defeat Italy.

Norway is now officially out of the 17th EURO, which will be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14, next year.

Despite possessing one of the greatest generations in history, Norway has not competed in a major event since EURO 2000.

Norway’s most recent World Cup appearance was in 1998 in France.

The more than two-decade hiatus coincided with the emergence of Haaland, widely regarded as the best central striker in international football today.

However, Haaland has yet to assist his side in qualifying for a major tournament.

All of his great performances at club level (Salzburg, Dortmund, and now Manchester City) did not translate to the Norwegian squad.

Norway and Haaland can only blame themselves for their losses against Spain, particularly against Scotland in Oslo. This means they can’t compete for second place.

Norway’s defeat also damages Haaland’s chances of winning the Golden Ball in 2024, after losing to Lionel Messi in the 2023 election.
