Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has acknowledged that the team will have to cope without star player Mo Salah during his absence for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Salah’s participation in the tournament means he could potentially miss several games for the club.
As Egypt’s most experienced player, Salah will be a key figure in their quest for AFCON success. Egypt is placed in Group B alongside Ghana, Cape Verde, and Mozambique. The Pharaohs will kιck off their campaign against Mozambique on January 14th, followed by a challenging match against Ghana four days later. Their final group stage match will be against Cape Verde on January 22nd.
If Egypt progresses to the later stages of the tournament, Salah’s absence could extend for over a month, including the final on February 11th in Abidjan. Klopp understands the impact of losing Salah but remаins confident that the team can navigate this period successfully.
