During his brief tenure with the Golden State Warriors, superstar forward Kevin Durant added two NBA championships to his resume, and he was frequently mentioned in the same breath as some of the greatest players of all time, despite the fact that many people didn’t like him taking the easy way out in the Bay Area with Stephen Curry and company.
With the buzz in the Bay Area growing louder, Durant willingly left the team to join forces with Kyrie Irving on the Brooklyn Nets, which appeared to be the birth of a new Eastern Conference juggernaut.
That was not the case, as Durant’s time with the Nets was a fiasco, prompting him to be dealt to the Phoenix Suns in order to build another superteam with Chris Paul and Devin Booker.
The Suns were regarded to have one of the best trios in the game after dealing Paul for Bradley Beal, giving Durant another chance to win a few more titles before calling it a career.
The Phoenix experiment, on the other hand, isn’t going as intended, with the team lingering around.500 rather than fighting with the best of the best atop the Western Conference rankings.
Durant didn’t hold back as he attacked the media for concentrating on the negative aspects of him and his legacy on Twitter, using the hashtag Ball Don’t Lie.
The Suns’ odds of competing for an NBA title are currently low, to say the least, as the team can’t seem to get back on track, even when all three of their superstars are healthy and playing.
It’ll be intriguing to see where this club goes and if any trades are made ahead of the NBA trade deadline to assist Phoenix get back on track.
