Alexis MacAllister wins Premier League Goal of the Month, plus two more under-the-radar headlines from Liverpool

Alexis MacAllister won December’s Premier League Goal of the Month title for his incredible shot against Fulham. The World Cup champion scored his first goal for Liverpool in the first game of December against Fulham at Anfield, which Liverpool won 4-3 courtesy to late goals from Wataru Endo and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexis MacAllister, who scored a couple goals for Brighton, scored Liverpool’s second of the afternoon against the Cottagers, putting the Reds back in ahead following Harry Wilson’s equalizer.

There would be a few more twists and turns at Anfield that day, but Mac Allister’s goal would have been memorable regardless of the outcome.

The Argentine was roughly 27 yards out when he fired at Bernd Leno’s goal, allowing a wayward ball to slide over his body before blasting a beautiful shot into the far top corner.

Mac Allister has yet to score another goal for the Reds, but there is already speculation that he may be limited to screamers at Anfield.

The £35 million summer signing also provided an excellent debut assist for the Reds in September, lifting the ball over the West Ham United defence for Darwin Nunez to volley home in a 3-1 Anfield victory.

Mac Allister isn’t Liverpool’s sole Premier League award winner this season; Mohamed Salah was awarded the division’s Player of the Month in October after scoring five goals in three games.

Alisson was also named Premier League Save of the Month in August for his incredible reaction stop against Newcastle United from Miguel Amiron’s ferocious strike, which proved crucial for the Reds.

The Brazilian was disappointed not to earn Save of the Month for December, despite delivering a magnificent save from Jefferson Lerma at Crystal Palace at the start of the month. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s absence is underscored by two figures; Liverpool cannot replace him 20 hours ago by Alex Caple.
